Ready to start your journey to qualify as a Sign Language interpreter? ?

Are you the type of person who likes to be kept on track?

You don't want a university course but you want to go down an academic route?

Perhaps an NVQ does not suit your style of learning but you would excel on a taught programme with regular tuition, deadlines, peer support and an environment in which to flourish?

Then join us in Bristol for the IBSL “Level 6 Diploma in Interpreting Studies” at Signworld Interpreter Training. The next programme will resume in September 2019, enabling you to qualify onsuccessful completion of the course in 2021. Applications will be available in early 2019.

Learners will be taught 4 teachers - three of whom are native BSL users. Three are qualified interpreters and one is a qualified translator. Two of the teachers are Deaf giving learners the rare opportunity to be taught by Deaf teachers who are also qualified interpreters/translators as well as users of interpreting services.

The course includes a set amount of mentoring time, which can be used before, during and after the learners have successfully registered as qualified interpreters, so no one is left alone after qualifying. We’ve devised a programme that should see you registered and working as a Trainee Sign Language Interpreter (TSLI) half way through the course, with the aim of achieving RSLI status at the end.

Training will be delivered in Bradley Stoke, just a few minutes walk from Bristol Parkway station.
