Ready to start your journey to qualify as a Sign Language interpreter? ?
Are you the type of person who likes to be kept on track?
You don't want a university course but you want to go down an academic route?
Perhaps an NVQ does not suit your style of learning but you would excel on a taught programme with regular tuition, deadlines, peer support and an environment in which to flourish?
Then join us in Bristol for the IBSL “Level 6 Diploma in Interpreting Studies” at Signworld Interpreter Training. The programme starts in February 2017, enabling you to qualify in October 2018.
Learners will be taught by three native BSL users, all of whom are from Deaf families. Two of them are qualified interpreters and one is a qualified translator. Two of the teachers are Deaf and learners will have the rare opportunity to be taught by Deaf teachers who are also qualified interpreters/translators as well as users of interpreting services.
The course includes a set amount of mentoring time, which can be used before, during and after the learners have successfully registered as qualified interpreters, so no one is left alone after qualifying. We’ve devised a programme that should see you registered and working as a Trainee Sign Language Interpreter (TSLI) after nine months, with the aim of achieving RSLI status at the end of the course.
Training will be delivered in Bradley Stoke, just a few minutes walk from Bristol Parkway station.
The two-year programme is competitively priced at £5,200 inc VAT, plus the IBSL Learner Registration Fees of £460. Students in England may be eligible for Advanced Learner Loans to help cover the costs of the course - information can be found here
We’re interviewing on 14th January 2017. Interviews cost £80 including VAT.
The deadline for applications is 15th December 2016. To find out more or apply; email email@example.com; phone/SMS 07837195318.
